Description

American Traveler is seeking a Respiratory Therapist with 2+ years of PICU and/or Level III+ NICU experience for a 13-week night shift travel assignment in a Level IV NICU at a pediatric acute care hospital.

Details

• Level IV NICU at an acute care pediatric hospital
• Pediatric and neonatal patient population in NICU and PICU settings
• Approximately 20–25 treatments per day
• Uses Hamilton and Servo ventilators, Respironics and Hamilton BiPAP, and Fisher & Paykel HFNC
• Charting system: Epic (experience preferred)
• Three 12-hour night shifts per week
• 6 weekend shifts (Friday, Saturday, and Sunday) required per 4-week schedule
• Holiday coverage may be required
• No on-call or standby call requirement
• No floating required
• Staffed with approximately 8 RTs per shift — traveler will not be the only RT on duty
• Preference scheduling is permitted

Requirements

• Minimum 2 years of experience in PICU and/or Level III or greater NICU
• RRT credential preferred; CRT may be considered
• Required certifications: ACLS (AHA), BLS (AHA), NRP, and PALS (AHA)
• License required if applicable
• 2 professional references required: 1 supervisor reference (from a permanent facility if worked perm within the last 12 months) and 1 peer or additional supervisor reference
• Driver's license copy required for consideration
• Skills checklist completed within the past year required for consideration

Additional Information

• Responsibilities include aerogen treatments, Volara, cough assist, IPV, NAVA, airway management, and intrahospital transport
• Intubation assistance only — independent intubation not required
• Department-specific orientation provided; duration based on prior experience
• Scrub color: stone/light gray
• Candidates must live more than 50 miles from the facility to be eligible (local travelers are not accepted)
• Candidates who have previously worked at any WVU Medicine location must have taken a 2-year break before being considered; cumulative experience applies and travelers may not work within WVU Medicine for more than 1 year total without a 2-year break
