American Traveler is seeking a Certified Respiratory Therapist (CRT) with Level 1 trauma and Epic EMR experience for a night shift inpatient position in Urbana, IL.

Details

• Inpatient respiratory care department at a Level 1 trauma hospital
• Patients include ventilator-dependent and general inpatient respiratory care patients, as well as Emergency Room patients
• Responsibilities include blood gas analysis (arterial, venous, and capillary), ventilator assessments, and routine respiratory therapy evaluations
• Charting performed in Epic EMR
• Night shift: 7:00 PM – 7:30 AM
• 3 days per week, 12-hour shifts (36 hours per week)
• No on-call required
• Weekend shifts every other weekend (3 weekends per 6-week period)
• Holiday rotation covering 6 major facility-observed holidays
• No floating required

Requirements

• Associate's degree in Respiratory Therapy
• Minimum 1 year of relevant respiratory care experience
• NBRC Certified Respiratory Therapist (CRT) credential
• BLS certification (American Heart Association)
• Illinois RCP license required; license required if applicable
• Epic EMR experience required
• Level 1 trauma experience required

Additional Information

• Responsibilities include preparing, testing, operating, and maintaining respiratory therapy equipment, as well as cleaning and stocking supplies
• Completes patient assessments, recommends interventions, and documents care plans and procedures accurately in the EMR
• Evaluates ventilator patients and all other respiratory care patients, including those in inpatient units and the Emergency Room
• Obtains and analyzes arterial, venous, and capillary blood gases
• Relays patient response and compliance information to physicians in writing
• Candidates must live more than 50 miles from the facility to be eligible; local candidates will not be considered
• RTO is not to exceed 7 total days for the duration of the contract
• Contingent workers may not remain on assignment continuously for more than 1 year at this health system; a 6-month break in service is required before returning
