American Traveler is seeking a Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) with 2+ years of experience, including Trauma Level 1, for a night shift position at an acute care hospital in Greenville, SC.

Details

• Night shift schedule: 7:00 PM – 7:30 AM (3x12-hour shifts)
• Every other weekend required
• Adult and geriatric patient population
• Adult critical care work setting with Trauma Level 1 environment
• Procedures include extubation, nasal and oral airway placement, suctioning, pulmonary hygiene, sputum specimen collection, and tracheostomy care
• Medication administration experience required, including albuterol, Atrovent, Combivent, Flovent, inhaled steroids, Isuprel, lidocaine, Perforomist, Pulmicort, racemic epinephrine, Spiriva, terbutaline sulfate, tobramycin, and Xopenex
• Medication delivery via aerosol mask, aerosol trach setup, Medihaler, and metered-dose inhaler
• Experience with handheld, T-piece, and trach collar nebulizers required
• Experience with high-flow nasal cannula and trach collar oxygen therapy required
• Experience with BiPAP, CPAP, mechanical ventilator weaning, and troubleshooting high-pressure alarms required
• Charting via Epic EMR
• Floating to other units or campuses may be required based on census needs, limited to areas where competencies have been documented

Requirements

• Active RRT license in South Carolina required — license required if applicable
• Minimum 2 years of respiratory therapy experience
• Trauma Level 1 experience required
• Minimum 1 year of Epic EMR experience required
• Current certifications: ACLS and BLS
• First-time travelers are welcome to apply
• Candidates must reside 50+ miles from the contracted campus to be eligible for this position
• Two professional references required for consideration
• Driver's license required for consideration

Additional Information

• Provide respiratory therapy services to adult and geriatric patients in an acute care, Trauma Level 1 hospital setting
• Administer and monitor a wide range of inhaled medications and oxygen therapies
• Support ventilator management including weaning protocols and alarm troubleshooting
• While the facility prioritizes keeping staff in their home unit, floating to other units or campuses is a requirement for agency staff based on census needs — float assignments are limited to areas where staff are qualified with documented competencies
• All time-off requests must be submitted at the time of booking; requests are subject to facility approval
• 13-week contract
