Description

American Traveler is seeking a Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) for a NICU night shift position, requiring at least 1 year of experience in NICU and PICU settings.

Details

• NICU unit at an acute care hospital in the Broward County, FL area
• Night shift schedule, 3x12-hour shifts (19:00–07:30)
• Cares for neonatal and pediatric intensive care patients
• Performs blood gas lab procedures and diagnostic testing
• Manages mechanical and non-invasive ventilation
• Performs or assists with advanced procedures including intubations, bronchoscopy, and tracheostomy

Requirements

• Current FL RRT license required; CRT also accepted — FL or compact license required if applicable
• Minimum 1 year of experience in Adult Critical Care, PICU, and NICU settings — NICU and PICU experience is required
• Current certifications required: BLS, ACLS, NRP, and ALS
• Demonstrated proficiency in blood gas analysis, quality control, and preventative maintenance on blood gas equipment
• Demonstrated proficiency in the application and management of mechanical and non-invasive ventilation
• Proof of vaccination status required; no declinations accepted
• Must pass a Basic Arrhythmia/EKG assessment

• Provide quality respiratory care in accordance with clinical practice guidelines and regulatory standards
• Act as a consultant to nursing, ancillary, and medical staff on respiratory care matters
• Provide education and consultation to patients, families, staff, and physicians as needed
• Facility is smoke-free
• Local candidates within 60 miles of the facility are accepted at a different rate
• Arrhythmia assessment is pass/fail; candidates who do not score 100% on lethal rhythms must retake a dysrhythmia exam within 24 hours and achieve an overall Angoff score of 83% or greater, 100% on lethal rhythm section, and 83% on all other sections before starting their first shift
