American Traveler is seeking a Registered Respiratory Therapist with 2+ years of acute care vent experience for a rotating days/evenings position at a 371-bed hospital in Salem, MA.

Details

• Work at a 371-licensed-bed acute care hospital with 220 Med/Surg beds, MICU, ED, Labor and Delivery, and a Level 2B Nursery
• Unit: Respiratory Care
• Day shift staffing includes 1 charge therapist, 2 therapists assigned to a 20-bed ICU, and 2 assigned to Med/Surg floors; 5 RTs on evenings and 4 on nights
• Day position may rotate to 11a–11p as needed; 36 hours per week
• Every other weekend (EOW) rotation required
• Primary equipment includes PB980 Ventilator and Hamilton T1 Transport Ventilator
• EMR: Epic (charting system)
• 13-week contract

Requirements

• Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Respiratory Therapy required
• Minimum 2 years of respiratory therapy experience, with ventilator experience in an acute care setting
• CRT or RRT credential from the NBRC required
• Active Massachusetts Respiratory Therapist license required; MA Conditional Licenses not accepted
• BLS certification required — AHA only; Red Cross not accepted at this facility
• Ability to draw arterial blood gases (ABGs) required
• Flu vaccine required; no religious or medical exemptions accepted
• License required if applicable
• 2 professional references required for consideration

Additional Information

• Provide respiratory therapy services across ICU and Med/Surg settings, including ventilator management
• Time keeping system: UKG/Kronos
• Local candidates with a permanent residence within 60 miles of Massachusetts General Hospital in Boston are eligible but subject to a reduced pay rate
• Any requested time off (RTO) must be disclosed at the time of consideration
