Description

American Traveler is seeking a Respiratory Therapist (RRT) for a NICU-based travel assignment at a children's hospital, requiring a minimum of 18 months to 2 years of NICU/PICU experience and active Indiana or Compact licensure.

Details

• NICU is the home unit, with assignment to NICU, PICU, or Peds determined upon arrival based on facility need
• Primary work will be in Labor & Delivery (L&D)
• Floating required to PICU and some Pediatric Acute Care, as well as potentially to an affiliate hospital nearby
• Schedule is 3x12 or 4x12-hour shifts, days or nights (7:00–19:00 / 19:00–7:00)
• Every other weekend is required
• Charting is done in Cerner (experience required)
• 13-week assignment

Requirements

• Active Indiana state RRT license or Compact license required; license must be in hand prior to consideration
• Required certifications: ACLS, BLS, NBRC RRT, and NRP (NRP may be obtained upon offer if placed in L&D, as determined by the facility); all certifications must be current — AHA and RQI formats accepted
• PALS preferred
• Minimum 18 months to 2 years of NICU or PICU experience required
• L&D experience required
• Children's hospital experience within the last 3 years required; experience at a Level 1 adult facility may also be considered
• Education must be accredited by CoARC and regionally accredited by CHEA
• Cerner EMR experience required
• Candidate must confirm comfort with the every other weekend requirement prior to consideration
• License required if applicable

• First-time travelers are welcome to apply
• Local candidates are accepted for Allied positions
• Candidates must be available to work 2 out of 3 major holidays
• Up to 5 days of RTO may be auto-approved
• Former permanent or PRN employees of the facility must have been separated for at least 12 months before being eligible to apply as a traveler
• Indiana-based RNs are not eligible for this facility; however, Allied travelers (including this RT role) are exempt from this restriction
