Description

American Traveler is seeking a Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) with ECMO experience for a rotating days/nights position in a large-volume pediatric and adult ECMO program at an academic children's hospital.

Details

• Large-volume pediatric and adult ECMO program at an academic children's hospital
• Role focuses on pediatric ECMO patients who are stable on ECMO
• Patient population includes congenital heart disease, congenital diaphragmatic hernias, and respiratory failure
• Pediatric patient ratios are 1:1, occasionally 1:2 for pediatric circuits; adult ratio is 1:3 with remote monitoring and rounding care model
• Rotating day and night shifts (3x12-hour shifts, 7:00–19:00)
• 2 weekends required per 4-week departmental scheduling period
• No call or float requirements
• Epic EMR experience required

Requirements

• Current RRT certification and BLS required
• Minimum 1 year of experience required
• ECMO experience required
• Prior experience at an urban or academic medical center required for first-time travelers
• 2 professional references from a manager or supervisor within the past 2 years required for consideration (charge RNs are not acceptable)
• License required if applicable

Additional Information

• First-time travelers are considered with prior ECMO specialist experience at an urban or academic medical center
• Flu shot is required with no exemptions allowed; deadlines will be communicated if applicable during flu season
• Candidates who have been employed by this facility within the last 12 months are not eligible to apply
• All time-off requests must be submitted at the time of initial consideration
