American Traveler is seeking a Respiratory Therapist (RRT) with NICU and adult critical care experience for a night shift position at a Level II Trauma Center, with rotation across NICU, adult ICU, ED, and pediatric units.

Details

• Short-term acute care hospital setting at a 431-bed Level II Trauma Center
• Rotational position covering NICU, adult ICU/stepdown, emergency department, and pediatric units — this is not a NICU-only position
• NICU assignments vary based on patient acuity
• Night shift: 3x12-hour shifts, 19:00–07:30
• Every other weekend required, plus every other holiday
• Potential for mandatory on-call up to 2 shifts per month
• Floating required within scope to meet facility needs
• Block scheduling accommodated at manager's discretion
• Charting via Epic
• Scrub color: wine

Requirements

• Current BLS and ACLS certifications required (ACLS may be pending at start with a 90-day window to obtain)
• CRTT certification required
• Valid Virginia (VA) RRT license required if applicable
• Minimum 2 years of respiratory therapy experience
• Adult critical care, emergency department, and community hospital experience required
• Proficiency in airway management, medication administration, ABG draw and analysis, O2 therapy, suctioning, pulmonary toileting, BiPAP, CPAP, and nebulizer therapy
• 2 professional supervisory references from within the past 2 years required for consideration
• Full 7-year work history with all gaps explained required for consideration

Additional Information

• NRP certification and RRT credential are preferred
• NICU, ED, and adult ICU experience preferred, though experience in all areas is not required
• Level 2 trauma and neonatal intensive care experience preferred
• Provide aerosol, bronchial hygiene, and lung inflation therapies; manage CPAP/BiPAP for adult and neonatal patients
• Attendance at monthly department meetings is expected when scheduled; if not working, candidate must review meeting minutes and send acknowledgment to management
