Description

American Traveler is seeking a Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) with Level III NICU experience and proficiency in neonatal oscillating ventilators for a night shift travel assignment at a short-term acute care hospital within the Yale New Haven Health System.

Details

• Short-term acute care hospital with 426 staffed beds, part of the Yale New Haven Health System
• Assignment in a Level III NICU with rotation through NICU and Pediatric units as needed
• Floating between two campuses (Bridgeport and Milford) based on census and staffing needs
• Night shift schedule: 4x12-hour shifts (7:00 PM – 7:30 AM)
• Every other weekend (EOW) required
• Holiday coverage required
• 13-week contract
• Charting via Epic (experience preferred)
• Free parking available on-site

Requirements

• Minimum 2 years of respiratory therapy experience required
• Level I Trauma Center experience required
• Level III or IV NICU experience required
• Proficiency with neonatal oscillating ventilators required
• Draeger ventilator experience required
• High frequency jet ventilator experience preferred
• Active CRT or RRT credential required
• State respiratory therapy license required if applicable
• BLS certification required
• Candidates must live at least 75 miles from the facility to be eligible for travel rates
• 1 professional reference required for consideration
• Former permanent staff must have been separated from the facility for at least 2 years to be considered as a traveler

Additional Information

• Provide respiratory therapy services to neonatal patients in a Level III NICU setting
• May be asked to orient students or new hires as needed
• Travelers are expected to be prepared to support all units across the hospital as floating needs arise
• Flu vaccination is required; declinations are not accepted
• COVID-19 vaccination exemptions considered for religious or medical reasons only
• Up to 7 days of RTO may be approved; all RTO requests must be finalized prior to offer acceptance, as additional requests will not be approved after acceptance
• Travelers are expected to participate in natural disaster or emergency response activities if needed
