Description

American Traveler is seeking a Physical Therapist (Outpatient) with at least 1 year of experience for a 13-week travel assignment at a Level IV Trauma Critical Access Hospital in Kodiak, AK, with float coverage across outpatient, acute care, and SNF settings.

• Work setting is a Level IV Trauma Critical Access Hospital with 46 acute care beds and 22 long-term care beds
• Primary unit is outpatient PT, with float coverage that includes acute care and SNF settings
• Therapy department treats patients of all ages across outpatient, inpatient, and SNF populations, including wound care, lymphedema, pelvic floor, and pediatric specialties
• Schedule is 5x8-hour day shifts, 8:30 AM – 5:00 PM
• Weekend coverage is required
• On-call is not required
• Block scheduling is available upon request
• Charting is done in Epic, which is required
• Free parking is available on-site
• The facility provides housing (typically a 1-bedroom apartment) and a vehicle for use during the assignment

Requirements

• Minimum 1 year of physical therapy experience required
• Current BLS certification required
• Valid Alaska PT license required; license required if applicable
• Epic EMR experience required
• Willingness and ability to float across outpatient, acute care, and SNF settings within scope of practice
• Minimum of 2 supervisory references covering 1 year of employment within the last 3 years in a comparable specialty or setting
• SSN and DOB required for consideration
• Valid driver's license and proof of insurance (including rental car coverage) required prior to operating the facility-provided vehicle
• Candidates must reside at least 50 miles from the facility to be eligible
• Hepatitis B vaccination required; titers and declinations are not accepted
• Pending licenses are not accepted

• First-time travelers are welcome to apply
• Travelers are expected to be willing to float between facilities within the state; refusal to float may result in assignment termination
• Travelers must be willing to work 2 out of 3 major holidays: Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Year's
• RTO requests should be submitted upfront; post-offer RTO requests may be denied
• Former permanent staff must be separated from the facility for a minimum of 3 months before returning as a traveler
• Travelers may work a maximum of 1 calendar year before a 6-month break is required before returning to the same facility
• Local candidates are not accepted; permanent address must be at least 50 miles from the facility
• Facility-provided housing is pet-free and intended for the traveler only; additional occupants require facility approval
• Travelers who accept facility-provided housing or a vehicle are not eligible for housing or rental car stipends
• Any color scrubs or business casual attire is acceptable
