Description

American Traveler is seeking a Registered Respiratory Therapist (RT/RRT) with a minimum of 2 years critical care experience for an academic Level 1 trauma center night shift role.

Details

• Work in an academic Level 1 trauma center and teaching hospital
• Assignments may be in adult or neonatal/pediatric units based on department needs
• Patients include those with post-surgical, pneumonia, COPD, asthma, and ED presentations
• Respiratory therapists are assigned to ICU or medical/surgical floors as required
• Night shift position, 18:30 – 07:00
• Scheduled every other weekend
• No on-call or floating required
• Uses Epic for EMR documentation
• Exposure to specialized equipment such as Servo U, Servo Air, The Vest, Volara, Aerogen, Heated High Flow, and cough assist
• Schedule cycles are every 6 weeks

Requirements

• Current NC RT license, RRT credential, BLS and ACLS required; license required if applicable
• Minimum 2 years of critical care experience in respiratory therapy
• Experience in a Level 1 trauma center or high acuity setting preferred
• Preferred proficiency with specific respiratory equipment used in the department
• Epic EMR experience preferred
• First-time travelers will be considered

• Work collaboratively with lead therapists and a supportive interdisciplinary team
• Orientation includes new employee orientation and 1-2 days departmental training
• Travelers are expected to work 75% of holidays
